- Rationale
- "In the project Solids, geometry is a plastic resource that allows for working with sensory space. Planes give shape to an intangible space where the material, present in all its simplicity, takes center stage in the confrontation with the viewer. Increasingly, plastic languages are simplified. Materiality and form are reduced to the elemental. There is less and less to say, because perhaps, words have no place in the sensory experience between the object and the viewer; words simply constitute another language, phonetic and symbolic, which is merely capable of interpreting what belongs to sculptural language; to a field of experiences generated between the viewer's encounter with an image, that is, an object that contains its specificity in terms of form, matter, and presence. In this definition, the object takes center stage for what it is, for its sensory capabilities, for its form, its materiality, for the light, for its way of occupying space, for those specificities that are its own and that, without any apparent logical reason, transform it into an object of sufficient interest for the viewer to stop and contemplate it." - Daniel Domingo Schweitzer

Artist
Daniel Domingo Schweitzer
Daniel Domingo Schweitzer develops sculptural compositions and two-dimensional works. The relationship he establishes with space and the viewer is mediated by the importance of material and geometric forms. At Saisho, he presents two projects, "Organisms and Fractals" and "Torsions of Space," which question "How do we create space?" through the investigation of concepts such as the body, material, space, and form. He has presented his work at the Contemporary Art Space (EAC) in Alicante and participated in renowned fairs like Hybrid in Madrid. His work is held in collections such as the Fundación ACB and the Antonio Gala Foundation (Córdoba). He is also a member of La Colmena (Madrid 2015), a cultural platform with which he has held several exhibitions.
