Transcending eras, Muñoz merges ancestral forms with contemporary language, creating totemic symbols of profound visual and poetic density.

BIO In the early nineties, Manu Muñoz (Almería, 1977) began, entirely by chance, his relationship with the plastic arts through graffiti: three years dedicated exclusively to creating murals and interventions of all kinds. In 1993, he was invited to participate in a charity group exhibition, which marked a turning point in his career. In the latter half of the nineties, he decided to dedicate himself almost entirely to painting, putting graffiti in the background to work and experiment with new supports and materials. It was during this period that he had his first exhibition in an art gallery in Madrid's Huertas neighborhood. From then on, he participated in various group exhibitions both inside and outside Spain, and his creative work became the central focus of the artist's life. In 2000, his series “Relative Humidity” opened the door to Blanca Soto Gallery, where he held several exhibitions. In parallel, winning several awards and mentions placed his work on the national art map. After a brief and necessary hiatus during 2005 and 2006, he moved his residence to London, a city that brought about a significant change in the artist and his work. There, in the Chelsea neighborhood, his exhibition “Psychotourism” revealed an unexpected turn towards figuration, which remains in his work to this day. His work, featured in over sixty exhibitions, has been seen in several countries both inside and outside of Europe: Japan, the United States, Mexico, Germany, Belgium, England, and France. After the London period, he returned to reside in Cabo de Gata, Almería, where he currently lives and works.
