Zenith | Ella Baudinet

This painting is inspired by a vision I had during a meditation in 2020. Years ago, thanks to a global pandemic and having all the time in the world to go within, I experienced my biggest spiritual awakening to date. Although I had meditated in the past, my practice changed and allowed me to go deeper than ever before. I started receiving clearer images in my meditations, visions, and downloads. One of these visions stuck with me. There was a woman, high up in the sky, in the centre of the clouds, looking down at me. Behind her were many others, further away but still relevant. She was radiant, glowing, and I felt so at peace. Like I was home. Unsure of its meaning, I asked a psychic friend for guidance. She suggested that I had healed something in my bloodline, particularly the women in my bloodline. Shortly after, I met my psychic medium, who accurately named my grandmother within two minutes of meeting her. My grandmother, who had passed away before I was born, had apparently been with me all along. Through the medium, she shared precise and undeniable messages that initially left me in shock. But, over time, I began to understand that this was a part of my life I had overlooked – a connection to something much bigger than myself. Those who have known me since I was young can attest to the shift I’ve experienced over the years. Healing has been the foundation of my artistic journey, and without it, my career wouldn’t exist as it does today. Along the way, I’ve made difficult choices, learned hard lessons, and committed myself to growth, facing my shadows. This journey has allowed me to overcome my past by committing to becoming a healthier, happier, and more authentic version of myself. I believe this is how I am able to achieve so much depth in my paintings, as I have become so familiar with the deep shadows as well as the bright light. Through all of this, I’ve realised that I have always been held and supported, not only by those around me, but by the unseen forces of my ancestors and spirit guides. This understanding has been transformative, not only for me but, I believe, for them too. Zenith is a tribute to the grandmother I never met, who walks beside me in spirit, and to all the women who came before her.
