Victor Manzanal
Víctor Manzanal is a sculptural artist whose practice is articulated around a deep reflection on the limits of human nature and its contact zones with the animal, the vegetal, and the inert. Through direct engagement with organic materials and a sculpture laden with symbolism, he investigates transformation processes —such as fossilization, petrification, or radioactive footprints— in which the living body becomes a vestige, a lasting inscription, and a paradox between the ephemeral and the permanent. A graduate in Fine Arts with a specialization in sculpture, his work is interested in intermediate states and non-definitive forms, where identity is presented as unstable and mutable. This tension between life and matter extends to a constant dialogue with digital visual culture, from which he extracts references and metaphors to transfer them to the physical plane, altering the usual perceptual order. His works thus inhabit a space between the corporeal and the absent, the tactile and the latent, generating an ambiguous unease that avoids closed meanings. In recent years, his work has generated growing interest in the national and international art circuit, notably his participation in Art Miami, Art Madrid, and the first edition of ENEAS. Through formal repetitions and gestures that verge on duplication, Manzanal experiments with a reflection on memory, the desire for persistence, and resistance to oblivion, proposing from matter a way of inhabiting that which disappears.

WE FADE
In We Fade, Víctor Manzanal explores the glitch — those disruptions in digital representation systems — as a visual metaphor for internal collapse. Far from understanding error as a technical anomaly, the artist elevates it to an expressive language, where fragmentation, distortion, and repetition become tools to reveal what usually remains hidden or repressed. Each work acts as an eroded emotional archive, an image that resists linearity and embodies a state of discontinuous transformation. Instead of moving towards a closed form, these pieces float in a constant threshold between the visible and the failed. As if the residual claimed its right to be an image. We Fade thus inscribes itself in a critical tradition of post-digital aesthetics, but with an intimate twist: the failure is not only technical but existential.
ANIMA
The Ánima series traces an archaeology of the incorporeal. The sculptures that compose it do not represent bodies, but states of presence that oscillate between the human and the ethereal. Víctor Manzanal configures figures that neither fully appear nor disappear, trapped in a suspended time that challenges traditional figurative narrative. These fragmentary and fragile morphologies invite an ambiguous reading: are they remnants of a body or embryos of a new form? Latent absence or ongoing emergence? Sculpture thus becomes a vital vestige, not as a closed form but as a halted breath, a mark of a transition in progress. Ánima dematerializes the corporeal without erasing it: it turns it into a symbolic threshold, into a tactile echo of an experience that cannot be fixed. In this play of tensions between affirmation and vanishing, the series proposes a slow contemplation, where the unfinished is not a lack, but potential.
SELF-GROWTH
Self-Growth addresses the body as a battlefield and an expanding garden. The sculptures — covered in rough, dense, almost defensive textures — present forms that grow outwards as a strategy of protection. Each protuberance, each sharp fold, is both a barrier and a manifestation of vitality: a way of maintaining the integrity of the self against the harshness of the world. The series poses an essential tension between the impulse to open up and the gesture of withdrawal. Víctor Manzanal explores the paradox of the shell as growth, where the external thickens to guard the intimate. This process, however, does not eliminate vulnerability, but preserves it encrypted in the matter.
