Rómulo Celdrán

Rómulo Celdrán was born into a humble and large family, far removed from the cultural or artistic world, but it was his father, an electronic technician, who marked his interest in the technical and engineering characteristics that can be perceived in his representations, who identified his precocious drawing skills and fostered his interest from an early age. At the age of 9, he was already painting in oils, consolidating a passion that would accompany him throughout his life. Due to family financial limitations, Celdrán began working at the age of 16, while balancing these jobs with his self-taught artistic training, developed through readings, library research, and visits to classical art museums. Without access to formal fine arts education, he immersed himself in the study of historical treatises such as Francisco Pacheco's Art of Painting, which marked his commitment to an artistic vision based on dedication, patience, and respect for the creative act. At the age of 19, after exhibiting in local cultural centers, he signed his first contract with an art gallery, an experience that, although complicated, taught him to value his work and lay the foundations for his professional practice. Since then, Celdrán has developed a solid career as a contemporary artist, participating in international fairs, collaborations with galleries, and highly relevant projects, always honoring classical tradition and revaluing it from a contemporary perspective.
