Irene Pérez

Young artist based in Cantabria, focused on abstract expressionism, who represents through painting, hidden feelings or emotions that are not seen in reality, making the imperceptible to our eyes visible. With a very personal discourse, the artist tries to reflect hidden emotions and feelings through compositions that are mostly realistic, of "successful" men, intermingling textures of various materials, creating a dialogue between the interlocutor and the work that allows for a personal connection with the viewer. Furthermore, through these textures, she achieves a balanced and powerful chromatic composition, very characteristic of her work.

El Éxito

In this series, the artist attempts to represent success through the figuration, mostly of men in suits, and all the not-so-positive feelings and emotions they have to go through to achieve that success. For the artist, socially, a man in a suit is associated with success, money... but she delves much deeper into the psychological depth and resilience behind that goal, always represented faceless and with textures that seem to emanate from the figure, like all those rarely expressed internal sensations and emotions.

Emociones

In her most abstract series, she allows the viewer to immerse themselves in all the emotions that her textures can express, always from a psychological and positive point of view. The great experimentation carried out with different textures and materials leads her to an elegant and purely emotional and gestural conclusion, with which each viewer can connect.

El peso de Éxito

This series represents a natural evolution of El Éxito, where Irene Pérez shifts her gaze to a later, more ambiguous, and contemporary stage. The figures maintain the symbol of the suit, but appear more unstable, imbued with internal tensions that no longer respond solely to ambition, but to what remains afterward. The artist thus delves into a less defined idea of success, where identity becomes diluted and emotions emerge with greater intensity, moving away from the ideal to occupy a more complex and current territory.
