Reimagining landscape from cartographic grids and historical homage, merging zenithal perspectives with painterly tributes.

Ikella Alonso is an artist from Madrid whose beginnings as an artist, we understand, played an important role in his way of understanding painting. La Nave, the studio where he began to develop his career, was a cultural melting pot. The exhibitions held there were numerous, and the debates and approaches to understanding Art with his contemporaries are believed to have been key to Ikella's work. It is interesting to note that the development of technological media (such as Google Earth) also provides Ikella with a tool that has allowed him to view the history of plastic representation in a different way, opening up new perspectives and evolving his path into unexplored territories. On a personal level, his dedication to painting during the most difficult times, while being a father of two, and his 30-year career, indicate that painting for our artist is not mere entertainment or a means of subsistence; it is a necessity.
