Guto Ajayu

Guto Ajayu (Bolivia-Spain, 1990) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work delves into the most visceral corners of human nature. His work revolves around the idea of a persistent animal identity: a genetic inheritance composed of aggression, desire, delirium, and psychopathy that transcends time and shapes our ways of being. With an urban aesthetic, reinvented symbology, and a visual language charged with irony, Guto constructs intimate and cultural dystopias from the trenches of art. His practice is a mirror of his own internal analysis: warlike, impulsive, uncomfortable. From this tension, he develops a narrative that questions the ego, violence, and pulsatility in our contemporary societies. Ajayu creates counter-narratives that destabilize official versions of memory and reveal a critical perspective deeply connected to his Andean heritage and his European experience. He has exhibited in institutions such as the Venice Biennale, the National Museum of Art of Bolivia, Conde Duque in Madrid, the Royal Academy of Art in London, and the Museum of the Ducal Palace of Medinaceli, as well as in fairs and galleries in cities such as Paris, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, Rome, and Mexico City. His work is part of important public, institutional, and private collections in more than twenty countries.
