About the artist
Daniel Domingo Schweitzer (1988, Germany). He grew up in the Canary Islands where he began his career in fine arts. In 2012, after an Erasmus exchange in Dresden (Germany), he moved to Valencia where he graduated from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. In the same year, he was selected for a residency at the Antonio Gala Foundation for Young Creators (Córdoba) where he began to develop his research line on the body and space. In 2013, he returned to the Polytechnic University of Valencia where he specialized with a Master's degree in Artistic Production. Schweitzer has held multiple group exhibitions in galleries, art fairs, and art festivals in various cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Lleida, Girona, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Plasencia, Córdoba, as well as in Dresden (Germany). He is a member of La Colmena (Madrid 2015), an organization with which he held several exhibitions and an artist residency in 2016 in Queveda (Cantabria). In the same year, he returned to the Antonio Gala Foundation for Young Creators to hold his first solo exhibition titled "Estratos." In 2017, notable achievements include the 3rd prize for sculpture from the Sierra Elvira Foundation and selection for the Ciutat Bella Oberta art festival to exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia. In 2018, he launched several projects, including a solo exhibition titled "Entrelíneas" at CREART-Tomás y Valiente Art Center, as well as a Solo Project at Marte, International Contemporary Art Fair, represented by Shiras Gallery. This current year, his participation in Start 2019, International Celebration of Contemporary Sculpture, organized by Sculpture network, and his participation in EAC, Contemporary Art Encounters at the University of Alicante Museum, are noteworthy. He currently lives and works in Madrid.
