About the artist
Alicia Martín is a visual artist who has found painting to be an interesting avenue for expression, where her family context, and particularly her father, a botanist and naturalist, played a part in shaping an imaginary that would become a reference for the artist's work. Books on biology, botanical atlases, and her sensitivity to the natural environment have led Alicia to delve into a "microscopic" perspective in the plastic interpretation of organic matter, its transformation, and its internal organization. Her training in digital arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York is also a noteworthy milestone for this author, as her creative processes, and sometimes her approach, find an interesting support tool in digital media. Similarly, her past experience in the world of design and her reverence for reference artists within Concept Art undoubtedly mark some of the artist's early compositions.
