Alicia Martin
Alicia Martín is a painter who stands out for her interpretation and dissection of matter, translating its organic aspects and transcribing them to the pictorial plane in a harmonious and balanced way. A composition that is both premeditated and open to the changes suggested by the material, worked through the dissection of reality into striking and profound forms, resulting in works of rich techniques and thoughtful organizations where light, volume, and the chromatic range presented act as a veil that situates what is represented in the same moment. The artist explores the concept of natural entropy and the transformation of matter, starting from the figuration of living beings and organic form, to the deconstruction and reconstruction of forms from pure chaos.
Financial information
Supernatural
Supernatural is a project that proposes life forms that adapt to changing environments, from a dreamlike and surreal tone. Through the observation of natural phenomena and the exploration of pictorial materiality, the pieces seek to accentuate the strangeness of the organic world and delve into alternative fictions. Starting from a free and intuitive plastic process, the works are generated as an open system that gradually interweaves, forming bodies of disparate materialities that open new cracks to explore.
Anima Mundi
Anima Mundi proposes a series of biomorphic compositions that lie at the intersection of painting and sculpture. Six large-format works that suggest a dance of opposing forces and balances of matter and form. Elements that intertwine and reflect intermediate states between the plant, animal, and mineral worlds. Each piece is the result of a complex process of assembling fragmented and recomposed layers from which new organisms emerge, originating from a circular approach where everything is related.
Cosmologías
Cosmologies seeks to reconnect the original links between painting and the primordial mineral world. An exercise in chance, imagination, and mystery where the pictorial medium is conceived as a reality in itself. Something tactile, with volume, mass, and weight, exposed to the physical laws of the environment in which it is located. It ceases to be a tool of representation to become a world containing other potential worlds that, as if they were celestial bodies, once glimpsed, challenge you to delve into them, to try to understand them, and to expand your gaze. The works present enigmatic rocky structures located in a timeless limbo where it is unknown whether life has just become extinct or perhaps is about to begin.
Strata
Strata is a project inspired by geomorphology with the aim of exploring the relationship between pictorial languages and natural sedimentary phenomena. Through mixed media techniques including acrylic, spray paint, and pastel on paper mounted on canvas or wood panels, the artist creates compositions that evoke the Earth's geological layers. These works reflect processes of accumulation and erosion, symbolizing the constant transformation of matter and the interaction between time and nature. The series invites the viewer to contemplate the depth and complexity of terrestrial structures, suggesting an intrinsic connection between geological processes and human experience.
Dark Matter
Dark Matter is a pictorial project that proposes to create a narrative around the idea of transformation by exploring the dynamism of organic form through techniques such as collage, drawing, and painting. Hybrid compositions in continuous mutation that propose a space of change where realities are connected through disparate materialities that converge, formulating a temporal order of things. Like a metaphor for the universe, forms manifest as alterable, adapted to the place and time, evolving in processes of accident and change, orbiting between structures that blur to create new meanings.
Entropies
In this series, Alicia explores the notion of entropy as a metaphor for the processes of change and transformation in nature and matter. Through mixed media combining digital and traditional mediums, the artist creates abstract compositions that evoke landscapes in constant evolution, reflecting the tension between order and chaos inherent in natural systems. These works invite the viewer to contemplate the beauty of the ephemeral and the inevitability of transformation in the world around us.
El Juego Infinito
The exhibition consists of a series of large-format paintings that depart from the language of abstraction and the investigation of the behavior of matter to propose structures that evoke dynamics inherent to the natural world and its continuous cycles of extinction and regeneration. Organic forms that invite us to participate in that infinite game which, in turn, involves the persistent attempt to capture in a painting something that is changing, that belongs to the realm of the unknown, where each fragment sprouts and grows from its own impulse.
Tektonika
Tektonika speaks of a seemingly firm territory but in constant reconfiguration, where pictorial language serves to recreate natural morphologies that refer to the deformations of the Earth's crust and its internal frictions. The exhibition experiments with new formats to create tensions between form and support. The works gather common elements to pose questions about a world that moves at different speeds.
