I have stripped this sculptural head to the maximum in order to focus its argument on “the presence of absence”. This dispossession finds its point of maximum tension in the eyes. The absence of eyes in sculpture has always interested me greatly, because it speaks of the infinite. Eyes made of emptiness which we perceive only by the limits of the eyelids. Eyes that see everything without looking at anything. The concept of Threshold here is the gateway to another place. From the previous moment, a new place is inconceivable, and is perceived as emptiness.
