Unique work
"Fuck the Lemon Trees" bursts with visceral energy in an explosion of violets and abstract gestures, openly challenging the contained delicacy of traditional Japanese prints. The work subverts the serenity of ukiyo-e landscapes, replacing cherry and lemon trees with a plastic fury that overflows in aggressive brushstrokes and stains. Its irreverent title functions as a manifesto: a critique of decorative exoticism and the domestication of nature. Here, the tree is no longer a symbol of contemplation, but a cry against the imposed, a declaration of aesthetic independence with a sour taste.

Armando Rabadan

Spanish visual artist, highly influenced by purism, he uses geographical themes mixed with the simplistic beauty of Japanese origami. His attractively modern works appear to have a healthy, three-dimensional texture, although they are actually completely flat on the canvas. His "preferred medium of spray, oil, and acrylic on canvas" along with computer sketching allows Rabadán to achieve the unique effect of his earthy and conceptual pieces. He has developed his career by undertaking residencies in France and most recently in the United Kingdom, and has had a presence in international emerging art fairs such as Context Miami or Contemporary Istanbul, appearing at the ARCO fair in 2024, as a main national presence.
