Face, Earth and tree | Xavi García

This work arises as a consequence of the creation of a large-format mural composed of three pieces. (600 x 200 cm) This work poses how people, nature, and the planet are all part of a whole. And how our actions condition the planet's global functioning. The work is composed of three parts joined by an umbilical cord that runs across the work from left to right. On the left, the image of a face is hinted at, in which landscape and face merge as a symbol of what is previously exposed (relationship between humans and nature). The central part of the composition is occupied by planet Earth, where we can see maps of different cities, museum or concert entrances, etc., which serve as the basis for this part of the work. On the right, we can find a tree whose trunk is formed by two human figures (citizens), thus reinforcing the meaning that is presented from the beginning in this work. Technically, the work uses various media. Collage, acrylic, spray paint, and oil paint. In this way, innumerable textures and effects can be enjoyed. The work can be enjoyed from another perspective if illuminated with a flashlight or ultraviolet light source.
