Transforming gesture and color into solidified volume, Alpuente explores material dynamics and emotional landscapes.

Gemma Alpuente (Algemesí, 1993) is a researcher artist whose practice is articulated from a profoundly experimental vocation. She conceives artistic creation as a dual research method, oriented both towards the introspective and the expansive, combining intuition with rigorous exploration of processes. Her work stands out for the development of her own language that transgresses pictorial two-dimensionality, transferring gesture and color to volume through a direct and physical relationship with matter. She holds a degree in Fine Arts and in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage from the Faculty of San Carlos (UPV), and a master's degree in Artistic Education from the University of Valencia. She has developed her career in the national and international art circuit. Her material research is supported by specific formulations of resinous materials that allow the pictorial fluid to be solidified and movement to be frozen after exothermic processes, generating works where assembly, spatial tension, and the poetics of the process acquire a structural role. Through color, her pieces address what is not verbalized: emotional landscapes, desires, and unreal worlds, establishing an energetic exchange between work, artist, and spectator. Her work is part of private collections in Spain, Europe, and Asia, and she has collaborated with galleries such as Galería Shiras, Galeria Cuatro, SGA, Untitled Gallery, Saisho, and Canal Gallery, with whom she participated in the Art Madrid fair, being highlighted by Cultura Inquieta. In recent years, she has received several national awards, including the Alhambra Prize at Abierto Valencia, and her retrospective Squeeze marked a key point in her public projection. After being affected by the Dana, she has recently resumed her production with new works presented at the Chirivella Soriano Foundation in Valencia, characterized by a high poetic character.
