Thus, in these works, I use "symbols" that have somehow influenced our way of acting during a period of time, or have marked significant moments in my life as an artist/citizen. Therefore, we can find works featuring Uma Thurman, Travolta, Marilyn, Ali, Amy Winehouse, The Beatles, etc. In this series, I reference the culture of images and social media, the selfie culture or generation, posing in front of mobile phones and social media, this social paranoia that has transformed the citizen and the way we relate. One of the characteristics of this collection is that the works are always conceived to function in pairs, meaning there are two works about Marilyn, the pair from the Pulp Fiction dance. The final result, we could say, is like owning a piece of wall, a piece of the street at home, with the exception that the process is purely classical in terms of the materials used and the way they are worked. As an artist, I never stop seeing authentic works of art on the walls of cities, works born from accident, from daily wear and tear, and from that hustle that wears away, and I feel the need to tear them from the walls and take them home. From here, I propose creating a series of paintings in which all these street works are the basis from which I begin to work.

Xavi Garcia

Xavi García is influenced by Pop and Urban art styles. His work results in a modern finish but with a purely classical process. He uses oil and acrylic in large quantities to create an innumerable range of mixed textures, one of his main characteristics. Xavi García has achieved international recognition, giving as much importance to the message as to the painting itself. He has participated in important international exhibitions both in Europe (London, Paris, Brussels, and Rome) and around the world (New York and Hong Kong).
