- Rationale
- Dark Matter is a pictorial project that proposes to create a narrative around the idea of transformation by exploring the dynamism of organic form through techniques such as collage, drawing, and painting. Hybrid compositions in continuous mutation that propose a space of change where realities connect through disparate materialities that converge, formulating a temporal order of things. As a metaphor for the universe, forms manifest as alterable, adapted to the place and time, evolving in processes of accident and change, orbiting between structures that blur to create new meanings.

Artist
Alicia Martin
Alicia Martín is a painter who stands out for her interpretation and dissection of matter, translating its organic aspects and transcribing them to the pictorial plane in a harmonious and balanced way. A composition that is both premeditated and open to the changes suggested by the material, worked through the dissection of reality into striking and profound forms, resulting in works of rich techniques and thoughtful organizations where light, volume, and the chromatic range presented act as a veil that situates what is represented in the same moment. The artist explores the concept of natural entropy and the transformation of matter, starting from the figuration of living beings and organic form, to the deconstruction and reconstruction of forms from pure chaos.
