The SUNDAY series deals with the relationship between still lifes and cartography. At first, it was the still lifes of the Fauvist painters and related to the series of interior landscapes. In a second moment, it is the still lifes of the Museo del Prado, to which this painting belongs. It is inspired by the work of Meléndez Valdés.
