“IMAGES FROM MEMORY” Work created in 2018 and intervened in 2024 This stage takes us directly to the foundation of the artist’s training. In it, the reference to childhood constantly appears in the works. The fields, the courtyards with characters subtly appearing in the compositions, imbue these works with nostalgia and references to his childhood. Xavi sprinkles all this theme using a wide range of ochres and browns that accompany letters and clippings from old documents, which further increase this reference and homage to the ancient. Xavi uses cathedral bases as a symbol of the foundation of his academic and artistic training, managing to fuse different architectural styles as a symbol that he himself is the result of this fusion. Here, the artist expresses a defense against any style of interpreting life as the greatest wealth a society can possess.
