Diego Ascencio is a young Mexican artist who combines photography and painting in his work. Ascencio Fuentes' work explores the visual relationship between certain defined elements and their abstract counterpart, acting as a translation of the constructed, considering color as a language, also, as one of the discourses proposed by architecture and its interaction with spatial experience. On the other hand, Ascencio Fuentes presents in his work a way of stopping time and physically deforming it, usually by elongating specific moments, thus creating a utopian idea in the permanence of memory, which he defines as ‘Chromatic Memories’. His career has so far focused on his native Mexico, participating in major national fairs and making the leap to Europe by participating in Barcelona (Spain) at SWAB.
